Our History & Identity

Founded in 1984, Aizawl Football Club has grown from a local Mizoram club to a national powerhouse in Indian football. The club's historic 2016-17 I-League championship victory, against all odds, remains one of the greatest sporting stories in India, symbolizing hope and determination. Based in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, the club represents the rich football culture of the region and serves as a beacon for aspiring footballers across Northeast India.

We compete in the I-League, the top tier of Indian football league system, and have consistently produced talented players for the Indian national team. Our youth academy is renowned for its focus on technical development and character building, ensuring a sustainable pipeline of homegrown talent.

The club's philosophy is built on attacking football, community engagement, and maintaining a strong local identity while competing at the national level. Our colors, red and white, symbolize the passion and purity of our mission.
